Trama
Nel maggio 1940 la Francia crolla di fronte all'invasione tedesca. Milioni di persone affollano le strade, spaventate dall'avanzata dell'esercito nemico. Tra costoro vi è anche un tedesco che, fuggito dagli errori del nazismo, parte alla ricerca del suo piccolo bambino, aiutato dall'istitutrice di un villaggio a cui l'aveva affidato.
